17th century French heart-shaped garnet ring
This is a rare to find 17th century heart ring from France.
The “heart” has an important place in antique jewelry, through the ages, as a symbol of keeping your beloved one with you.
The shank of the ring is made in 18k gold with a slightly rose gold tone. The heart-shaped silver head is set with a garnet in the center and decorated with marcasites at its border. The marcasites are hand cut and have an unequal triangular top that shimmers in the light.
Please note: Due to its age, there are visible scratches on the surface of the garnet and some of marcasites.
