English Victorian “en pampille ”dripping rain parure
This is a very feminine and romantic “en pampille” pendant and earrings parure from the end of 19th century. It crafted in silver set with hand cut pastes. The pastes are in collet setting which resembles the stone setting in Georgian era jewelry. The wires of earrings are tested as 9k gold.
"En Pampille" refers to a style in which a series of gems are arranged as a tassel. The design was inspired by romanticism and nature motifs. Jewelry designers turned the stamens of fuchsia flowers into tassels, resembling the rain dripping from the tip. The design was popular in floral jewelry in the mid-19th century.
Please notice that one of the pastes is a later replacement which has a modern cut, unlike the other hand cut pastes.
