French gemstone bouquet brooch c.1790
This exquisite French gemstone bouquet brooch, dating back to around 1790, is meticulously crafted in 18k solid gold and silver, adorned with emerald and chrysoberyl.
The brooch boasts a lively and soft overall design, radiating a distinct handmade charm. Various design contours delineate the petals and leaves, showcasing intricate detailing. Adding to the floral motif, a four-leaf clover in the lower left corner enhances the richness of the piece.
The generously set chrysoberyl gemstones present a delicate pale grass-green hue, elegantly complementing the intense vivid green of the central emerald. The collet setting introduces visual variety and dimension, while the open-back design allows ample light to enhance the luminosity of the gemstones.
Please note there are visible traces of gemstone replacement in two petals. The overall condition is good, exhibiting normal signs of use and oxidation. The pin function remains undamaged.
