French red-enameled octagonal flip ring c.1810
This antique flip ring from France, dating back to the 1810s, is crafted from 18k gold and red enamel.
The design is a simple and elegant octagon, with one side featuring rich and vibrant red enamel. The other side bears the owner's initials. The enameling process gives the red enamel side a brushstroke-like texture, adding visual variety and depth to the vivid red color.
As its name suggests, the flip ring can be rotated 360 degrees, allowing the wearer to choose either side to display. When the ring base is aligned with the band, it can be worn as a pendant, offering at least four different styling options.
Another flip ring with a similar structure and blue enamel is available on our website, featuring initials in a similar font. This suggests that the piece is part of a set of wedding rings.
The piece is in good antique condition, showing normal oxidation and signs of wear. As the condition assessment is highly subjective, please click and enlarge our photos to view more detailed condition information for your judgment.
