French Art Nouveau custom-made gold diamond necklace with seal fob pendant c.1900
This custom-made long necklace hails from the Art Nouveau era in France, originating from the 1900s. Crafted entirely from 18k gold, it showcases diamond embellishments and a gold seal fob pendant engraved with the family crest in amethyst.
The presence of the diamond butterfly bow decoration and the necklace's distinctive structure suggests it was specifically tailored for a noblewoman's seal fob pendant during that period. The asymmetrical design of the bow beautifully illustrates the graceful Art Nouveau style. Each side of the necklace features a diamond slide, facilitating the organization of the two strands by sliding them up and down while also adding decorative elements that can alter the overall appearance.
The clasp of the necklace exhibits an exquisite design as well. The hollowed-out marquise-shaped clasp is adorned with a floral pattern accented with diamonds, accompanied by circular disk structures on both sides also embellished with diamonds, echoing the diamond slides. The entire piece reflects meticulous craftsmanship and seamlessly combines aesthetics with practical functionality.
The amethyst-carved seal fob pendant below can be easily detached or paired with other pendants for simultaneous wear.
