DESCRIPTION

These spherical Sardinian coral earrings, intricately carved to resemble strawberries, belong to the French Art Nouveau period circa 1900. The ear wires are crafted from solid 18k gold.
Coral has been utilized in jewelry and amulets since ancient Egyptian times. Originally, Sardinian coral referred to coral sourced from around the Italian island of Sardinia but now encompasses coral from the wider Mediterranean region.

The spherical coral beads are meticulously hand-carved with intricate patterns, evoking the image of luscious, springtime strawberries. The vibrant hues of orange-red and white in the coral beads create an endearing interplay.
