English Georgian navette cluster paste ring c.1810
This is a Georgian navette cluster ring from England, dating back to the 1810s. The ring head was made during the Georgian period, while the band might be from the later Victorian period. The entire piece is crafted in sterling silver and set with hand-cut pastes.
The design is striking and elegant, with the flower-shaped ring head made of pastes that is symmetrical and elongated, giving it a regal and sophisticated appearance. The hand-cut pastes exhibit a strong artisanal feel and excellent reflective qualities. The meticulous craftsmanship makes the settings almost invisible, with the basket setting on the back of the ring head reducing gaps between the stones. These intricately patterned settings not only enhance the aesthetics but also serve the practical purpose of securing the stones.
The ring band is equally enchanting, with intricate foliate scroll designs on both sides of the ring head that extend into a high-profile floral motif at the fingertip. The entire band is adorned with engraved floral patterns, complementing the natural theme of the piece.
The ring is in good antique condition, showing normal oxidation and signs of wear. The engravings on the band have noticeable wear. Since the condition assessment is subjective, please click and enlarge our photos to view more details for your evaluation.
