Beginning of 20th century Edwardian diamond gold mesh purse pendant necklace
This is a gold mesh purse pendant necklace from early 20th century Europe. Crafted entirely in 14k gold, it is adorned with diamonds and accented with gray-blue guilloché enamel.
The hand woven gold mesh of the purse pendant is intricate and flexible, making it suitable for storing personal items such as rings or wax seals. A diamond is set at the center of the purse, drawing the eye amidst the complex structure. The clasp is also adorned with two diamonds, enhancing both the craftsmanship and the quality of the materials used.
The frame of the pendant and the circular links of the necklace are decorated with serene gray-blue guilloché enamel. The regular and simple patterns of the enamel create a sophisticated balance with the woven body, subtly enhancing the overall ornamentation and color layers. This makes it a pendant necklace that combines both functionality and aesthetics.
The piece is in good antique condition, with normal oxidation and signs of wear. There is a small area of enamel loss on one of the circular links.
