French Gustave-Roger Sandoz Art Nouveau gold and pearl necklace in fitted box
Rare gold and pearl necklace in excellent condition by SANDOZ which showcases the aesthetics of Art Nouveau era.
This necklace is crafted in solid 18k gold and has a symmetrical foliate shape. Dangling from the bottom of the pendant is a natural pearl that moves freely. It has been immaculately preserved in its original fitted box by the French jewelry house of Gustave-Roger Sandoz.
Gustave-Roger Sandoz, son of the watchmaker and jeweler Gustave Sandoz, took over the business at the Palais-Royal after the death of his father in 1891, then settled in 1895 at 10 rue Royale. He is known for his association with glass artist Émile Gallé and his display of works in the Art Nouveau style at the Paris 1900 exhibition. Sandoz is an important name in Art Nouveau jewelry and French goldsmithing.
