French Charles X Octagon gemstone Ring
A huge French Charles X gemstone ring c.1820 with a center octagonal citrine(estimated more than 10 carat) adorned with two rows of rose cut diamond halos.
The citrine has unusual multicolors- honey and light yellow- which is caused by the color zoning in natural stone.
All the stones are on open-backed settings and are at good quality. This is an original ring, not a conversion.
Please note the very special floret-like collet at the edges of center citrine, which is rare to see and mostly seen in Georgian jewelry. A good example of this kind of fancy collet can be seen on the coronation sword of Napoleon I.
Modeled in 18k solid rose gold and topped with silver, this ring is filled with characters and has very good coverage on hand. It is truly statement piece for collectors.
There are light scratches to the surface of citrine, overall in good condition considering its age. As the assessment of an item's condition is highly subjective, please click and enlarge our photos to examine more detailed condition highlights for your judgment.
