End of 19th century English Victorian chunky silver book chain with extender
An English Victorian silver book chain from circa 1890, chunky in size, comes complete with an extender to hang your pendant if desired. The necklace stands out due to the impressive three-dimensional quality and thickness resulting from the hollow construction of its links.
The undulating rolled edges on both sides complement the round and flat interlinked structure, making the neatly arranged linear carvings in the middle appear stylish and well-designed. While the back of the necklace is plain and simple, its distinctive structure gives the piece a unique style when worn on either side.
At the end of the piece, there is an extender with a functional bolt, making it a visually appealing and versatile accessory. The necklace is in good antique condition, showing normal signs of wear and oxidation, with all clasps working properly.
