French Wild Rose Diamond Brooch in Platinum, Early 20th Century
This French brooch from the early 20th century is constructed primarily in platinum, with only the pin cap made in 18k white gold. The piece is set throughout with rose-cut diamonds.
The brooch is designed as a spray of wild rose leaves and buds unfolding naturally along the stem, retaining the slightly directional movement of growing plants. The piece reflects a transitional moment at the turn of the century, where the naturalistic tendencies associated with Art Nouveau begin to merge with the platinum and diamond jewelry that would come to define early 20th century French design.
The brooch remains in good antique condition, showing normal signs of oxidation and wear. As condition assessment is subjective, please enlarge and review the photographs carefully for further condition details.
