1890s English enameled miniature gold cup pendant as seen in Titania's Palace
This exquisite enameled gold cup from late 19th-century England is crafted in gold (tested as ~11k), featuring a turquoise blue enamel ground adorned with intricate hand-painted floral motifs that extend gracefully from the cup to the base.
The enamel remains in good antique condition, with only a few small nibbles on the foot—a charming testament to its age and authenticity. Remarkably, the piece stands sturdily on its own, demonstrating both meticulous craftsmanship and enduring durability.
Adding to its allure is a fascinating coincidence: a pair of miniature binoculars crafted by the same jeweler appears in Titania’s Palace, the legendary dollhouse commissioned in 1907 by Sir Nevile Wilkinson for his daughter, who wished to provide fairies with a proper home.
After 15 years of meticulous craftsmanship, Titania’s Palace became a masterpiece reflecting the romantic artistic style of late 19th- to early 20th-century Britain.
The dollhouse toured across the UK, captivating audiences—including a young Queen Elizabeth—and housed treasures like a diamond brooch possibly once owned by Princess Eugénie of France, showcasing the era's opulence and fine artistry.
This miniature gold cup is in good antique condition, showing typical signs of oxidation and wear. The enamel decoration is well-preserved, with only minor losses at the base.
