French Art Nouveau gemstone clover Toi et Moi ring c.1900
This French Art Nouveau "Toi et Moi" ring, dating to around 1900, is crafted in 18k solid gold and platinum, set with emeralds, pearls, and a diamond.
The "Toi et Moi" (you and me) ring design has been a cherished symbol of love in the West since the 18th century. Featuring two main elements that intertwine, this style represents the eternal bond between two souls.
This ring reimagines the "Toi et Moi" design as two intertwined clovers. One side features a clover set with luminous pearls, smooth and elegant in its rounded shape, while the other showcases a clover adorned with emeralds and a single diamond. The emeralds vary in both hue and cut, while the platinum setting enhances the diamond’s brilliance.
The thoughtful composition, combining the clover motif symbolizing good luck and the romantic essence of the "Toi et Moi" style, makes this piece a meaningful token of love.
The ring is in antique condition with normal signs of oxidation and wear. Under 10x magnification, minor edge damage is visible on the emeralds. A later assay mark for 18k solid gold (French owl mark) is on the shank.
