English Georgian polka dot rolo chain c.1820
This English Georgian necklace, dating to the 1820s, is crafted in 21k gold (92.93% gold content) and measures 48.5 cm (19 inches) in length.
High-purity gold lends the piece a rich, warm orange-yellow hue, while its intricate details enhance its character. Each circular link is adorned with subtly raised gold dots, adding texture and depth. This polka dot motif extends throughout the entire necklace, including the clasp, where the design is further accentuated by contrasting gold finishes—some areas feature a fine matte texture, while others are polished smooth. This interplay of textures creates a layered visual effect, giving the antique necklace a timelessly modern appeal.
The necklace fastens with a barrel clasp. It is in antique condition, showing normal signs of oxidation and wear, with some areas exhibiting more pronounced patina.
