DESCRIPTION

This colorful gemstone cluster ring is one of the most intimate jewelry in history: Acrostic jewelry.

Acrostic jewelry is also known as Message jewelry which is the spelling of a word by using the first letter of each gemstone.Back in 19th century, when love isn't something people would say out loud, message jewelry gives lovers an intimate way to show their love. Acrostic jewelry gained popularity in Georgian England during the 1820s and 1830s and was very trendy throughout the Victorian era (1837-1901).

On this particular ring are set with diamond, emerald, amethyst, ruby, emerald, sapphire and topaz which spells the word "DEAREST".

This 18k solid gold ring is in good condition and bears English hallmarks-some are unreadable because the ring has been resized before.

All gemstones on this ring are original, this is a genuine acrostic ring.
