French Art Nouveau Clematis Diamond Brooch
Diminutive and feminine, this 18k gold brooch represents the beauty of the Clematis.
The clematis symbolizes wisdom, ingenuity, ambition, and aspiration, also affectionately known as the “Queen of the Vines”.
The asymmetrical and free flowing lines perfectly interpret the climbing vines. The three-dimensional golden stem extends from the front to the back, entwining beautifully. From the back of the brooch, we can tell this piece was made separately and then welded together, a process that requires much more labor and time than machine molding, presenting the spatial beauty of nature.
A clematis blooms at the top of the stem frame. The flower is full of details: the swaying petals and stamens, a sparkling diamond in the center to match the warm gold petals, and tiny fruits set with rubies on both sides to show the prosperity of spring and summer. A nature teardrop pearl dangles freely from the bottom, which swings when worn, bringing vibrancy to the brooch.
A stunning Art Nouveau piece, perfect for any occasion!
