French Louis XVI table-cut diamond half-eternity ring c.1760
This diamond ring, dating back to the 1780s during the reign of Louis XVI, is crafted from 9k gold and set with nine diamonds.
The ring is believed to originate from the southeastern region of France, near Italy, where 9k gold was commonly used for jewelry due to geographical influences. The nine hand-cut diamonds feature a flat top with unevenly angled facets around the edges, giving them a trapezoidal, raised appearance. This design differs from the traditional table-cut, which has four beveled sides, but it still retains the rustic charm of handcrafted pieces.
The ring is in good antique condition, with normal oxidation and signs of wear. Since the assessment of condition is highly subjective, please click and enlarge our photos to view more detailed conditions as a basis for your judgment.
